GUIDELINES FOR THE DAY

  1. Please arrive 15 minutes before the photo shoot starts for your child's age group, as mentioned in the confirmation email sent to your email address.
  2. You are in good hands: our staff speaks French, English and Dutch.
  3. Child(ren) must be accompanied by their parent or guardian during the entire time of the photo shoot.
  4. Clothing. Children should wear comfortable clothing and must be barefoot to maximise safety and freedom. Please avoid clothing with very strong patterns, stripes and bold designs like stripes, polka dots, and plaid. On the same note, logos and cartoon/movie characters must be avoided. Adults entering the gym are asked to remove their shoes (adults may wear socks). Read more: What colors and outfit to wear?.  For some pictures, children will wear t-shirts and accessories selected personally for them by The Little Gym Europe team.
  5. Gymnastics outfit. Participants to the photo shoot are welcome to bring their own gymnastics outfit. Please avoid clothing with very strong patterns, stripes and bold designs like stripes, polka dots, and plaid. On the same note, logos and cartoon/movie characters must be avoided. Read more: What colors and outfit to wear?.
  6. Jewellery, fake tattoos, food and chewing gum are not permitted in the gym during the photo shoot activities.  We suggest you give your child something to drink before they enter the gym so they will not have to leave during the photo shoot.  You will need to provide food for your child in case he/she needs to eat during the time frame of the photo shoot.
  7. Photo shoot observation. Parents and siblings are welcome to observe the photo session from the lobby. Siblings that have not been selected to the photo shoot are not permitted to participate in the photo shoot.  Parents not selected to participate in the photo shoot will also be asked to stay in the lobby.
  8. Safety & Responsibilities. We make every reasonable effort to ensure the safety of children in the gym and while they are in the lobby. Parents or guardians are ultimately responsible for seeing the safe entry and exit of their children.
  9. Behavioural Issues.  If a child is being disruptive, destructive, or dangerous to themselves, other children, or staff members during the photo shoot, we will make every effort to work with parents and the child in question to resolve this behaviour. If the behaviour persists or other undesired behaviours develop, the child in question will be asked to take a break from the photo shoot.
  10. Cancellation. In case you can’t make it to the photo shoot on the day and time slots confirmed via email by The Little Gym Europe, please send us an email at dona.ilinca@thelittlegym.eu at least 24 hours before the photo session (deadline: July 2nd/July 3rd). If you wish to change the day and the time, please notify us at least 3 days prior to the photo shoot (deadline: June 30th). Re-assignments will be made  based on availability and spots left.
  11. Parents participating in the photo shoot. For the Parent/Child photo sessions (Monday, 9:00-12:00 and Tuesday, 9:00-12:00), parents or guardians are invited to be part of the photo shoot. 4 EASY TIPS FOR A SUCCESFUL PHOTO SHOOT

  1. Don’t coach your child to smile! Don’t do it before the photo-shoot, don’t do it during the photo-shoot. A cheesy smile is not what we want. Children are very good at expressing emotion and they will smile on their own. It’s our job as adults to be funny and help the child feel relaxed. One shot capturing a pure, genuine smile is more valuable than a hundred grins. If the child is having fun, he/she will smile!
  2. What colors and outfit to wear? Pastels and happy colors in general look great on children. Solid colors are preferable to stripes or strong patterns (see above) regardless of color. Therefore, please avoid clothing with very strong patterns, stripes and bold designs like stripes, polka dots, and plaid. Avoid white, especially in proximity to the face, as it tends to wash out the skin tones. Also, avoid black, as it tends to “disappear” in photos. Children with pink or rosy skin undertones look best in cool colors, like blue and purple. Those with golden or apricot undertones look best in warm colors, such as mocha and red.On the same note, logos and cartoon/movie characters should not be worn.
  3. Let the child have fun! The shots will come on their own. Children above three will be in the gym with our instructor and photographer, while you can enjoy coffee in the lobby.
  4. Don’t let the children worry about getting their pictures being taken. That’s the photographer’s job. You don’t even need to tell the child beforehand that a photo-shoot will happen. We want the child to be ready to have fun during the shoot, not to think what “getting your pictures taken” entails.

*Parents participating in the photo shoot

For the Parent/Child photo sessions (Monday, 9:00-12:00 and Tuesday, 9:00-12:00), parents or guardians are invited to be part of the photo shoot. Please let us know of your decision to participate by June 28th and send a headshot via email to Dona at dona.ilinca@thelittlegym.eu

Here below are some beauty tips that will help you get ready for the photo shoot.

Clothing
  • Parents should wear comfortable clothing and must be barefoot or wear socks to maximise safety and freedom.
  • Please avoid clothing with very strong patterns, stripes and bold designs like stripes, polka dots, and plaid.
  • On the same note, logos and movie characters must be avoided.
Hair: Keep it simple
  • If your hair is long, consider pulling it back in a ponytail. This way, you won't be tempted to twirl it around your finger out of nerves.
  • Even if you're not a regular user of hair spray, use a light spritz to keep flyaways at bay.
  • Don't wear a hat as part of your ensemble.
  • Skip the flashy hair accessories.
  • Keep your hair out of your face.
Makeup: Less is more
  • If you don't need much coverage, use a tinted moisturizer or BB cream to even out your skin tone, but be sure to cover any blemishes or redness with concealer.
  • Wear lipstick, not lip gloss. Gloss is too shiny and youthful for this type of photo.
  • Use eye shadows in neutral and natural shades. A little bit of shimmer is fine, but stay away from adding a lot of shine (especially glitter!) to your eyelids.
  • Mascara and a bit of eyeliner are really all you need. If you're going for liquid liner, be sure that you've mastered this skill and you restrict yourself to a light application.
  • Well-groomed brows show that you pay attention to details. Tweeze any stray hairs and use brow gel (or hair spray!) to keep your arches in place.
  • Applying a little bit of blush makes everyone look healthier. Use this rather than bronzer for a natural-looking, healthy glow.
  • While contouring and highlighting are great for a night out, you should skip this step for this photo shoot.
Nails: A few tips
  • It doesn't matter whether your nails are long or short, but they should be neatly filed.
  • A neutral nail is foolproof, so look for barely there beige and pink polishes.
  • Skip the french manicure or any strong patterns; please go with a single color.
